The Alto Siritinga Farm was founded by two friends, Pierre and Saul. With a long standing friendship, they came together over a shared dream to cultivate coffee. Although coffee had been in Saul's family since the 1960s, when his great-grandfather immigrated to Minas Gerais, both Saul and Pierre decided they wanted to produce coffee on their own terms and be much more focused on quality than anyone had been in their families before them.

In 2015 they acquired a 90 hectare property located near the Caparao Park in Santa Margarida, Minas Gerais. Surrounded by mountains and valleys, the soil in the area is well fed with water and particularly fertile - making it the perfect place to grow coffee. The friends also started a reforestation project on the farm to help preserve the tropical microclimate of the area. Of the 90 hectares only 40 hectares are currently in full production.

Saul and Pierre continue to invest in the property. Recently they have expanded their drying areas, built new greenhouses and have started to use African beds for certain lots. Although they previously obtained a Rainforest Alliance certificate, they decided not to continue with the certification body, due to the costs and their own perceived lack of benefit. Instead, they are planning to become certified by a local body called Certifica Minas; this process is expected to be complted later this year.

While the farm is relatively new, it has laredy begun winning awards. In particular, the farm placed second in the 'fermented' category at the Coffee of the Year Brazil competition in 2020. According to Saul, they are actively seeking new partners and markets to ensure the continued success of their specialty coffee production.
